Global Impact Competition for Argentina


With the prize of attending Singularity University's (SU) Graduate Studies Program, SU holds competitions around the world to identify outstanding students and promote entrepreneurship that will positively impact regions around the world.

Singularity University's mission is to assemble, educate, and inspire leaders who strive to understand and facilitate the development of exponentially-advancing technologies to address humanity's grand challenges.



ImpacTec is a social innovation competition that seeks entrepreneurs with disruptive technology ideas to solve the problems of people in situations of social vulnerability. The ideas presented in the contest must leverage technology as a means to solve the identified problem and have the potential to impact a million people in the population base of the social pyramid.


ImpacTec is the second competition hosted in Argentina, with the support of Singularity University, the City Government and Socialab.


After a selection process of 4 months, the competition winner will receive the prize of attending GSP2014 for free at Singularity University. Socialab will accompany the development of the competition and work with the winner during different stages of the competition.

Ideation: application of ideas/projects on the platform.

1st evaluation: selection of the best 30 ideas/projects for the 1st pitch.

Co-creation: testing the 15 ideas/projects selected in the 1st pitch with potential users and experts in addition to preparation of deliverables for the 2nd assessment.

The 2nd evaluation: selection of the 6 finalists.

Demoday: introducing the finalists and the winner's choice.

Competition Rules

Criteria for selection ideas/projects :


• Social innovation: the idea/project proposes a new solution to an existing social problems associated with poverty and social inequality.


• Use of technology : the idea/project uses technology as a tool to solve the problem.


• Feasibility : the idea/project demonstrates technical feasibility and development .


• Massively scalable impact: the idea/project has the potential to impact a million people and replicate and scale business models that will increase their social impact.



Requirements to apply for the contest: 


  • The applicant must be 21 years or older on the first day of the GSP .
  • The applicant must meet all requirements of the application of GSP including fluency in written and spoken English .
  • The applicant must have a valid passport and be able to secure a visa that allows time travel to and from the United States ("U.S." ) to assist the GSP .
  • The applicant must provide their own health insurance while residing in the U.S. to attend the GSP .
  • The applicant must meet the criteria to be in place on the campus of NASA which makes the GPS and meet all NASA policies , standards and procedures
  • Applicants must sign (if applicable ) and comply with all agreements, terms and conditions, or policies applicable to all participants in the GSP (except for payment of the program fee ).
